Uzbekistan establishes diplomatic relations with Sierra Leone
Sierra Leone has become the 143rd country with which Uzbekistan has established diplomatic relations.

In New York, a Joint Communiqué was signed on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dunyo news agency reports.
On behalf of the governments of the two countries, the document was signed by the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the UN Bakhtiyor Ibragimov and the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the UN Alhaji Fanday Turay. It is noted that the signing of the document was an important step to enhance the interaction of Uzbekistan with the countries of West Africa.
The parties confirmed their interest in strengthening joint cooperation within the framework of international organizations, including the UN and its specialized agencies.
Sierra Leone is located in West Africa, on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. The country is a member of the British Commonwealth, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Movement and other international structures.
