Tashkent metro to receive 56 new cars by year end
The Russian company “Metrovagonmash” is expected to deliver 56 more wagons (14 trainsets) for the Tashkent metro in 2023. The company has delivered a total of 60 wagons in 2019-2021.

The Russian “Metrovagonmash” plant, which is part of Transmashholding (TMH), should deliver 56 wagons or 14 vehicles for the Tashkent metro in 2023, TMH Director General Kirill Lipa reported.
“We have signed a contract for the supply of more than 50 metro cars (for Tashkent) and it is being implemented,” Gazeta.uz quoted Lipa, who participated in the “Innoprom. Central Asia” exhibition, as saying.
Earlier, Kun.uz reported that 56 wagons will be imported from Russia in 2023, referring to the metropolitan press service. However, it is not disclosed in which month these trains will be delivered and for how much. New content is said to be distributed to all destinations based on downloads.
According to the head of Transmashholding, in 2019-2021, 60 cars with a total value of 91.3 million euros were brought to the subway of the capital of Uzbekistan from “Metrovagonmash”. This made it possible to form 15 compositions.
It should be recalled that 5 more stations of the Tashkent underground metro were commissioned yesterday.
