350 electric buses to be purchased for Samarkand
It is planned to purchase 100 electric buses with a length of 10.5 meters for the city of Samarkand this year at the expense of EBRD grants.

A $95 million project is being implemented between the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, the Samarkand Regional Government and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to purchase 350 electric buses for the city of Samarkand and create the relevant infrastructure.
It is noted that the project is planned to be implemented in two stages. Currently, work on the first stage is underway. In particular, it is planned to purchase power equipment for the first 100 electric buses with a length of 10.5 meters and build an electric bus fleet.
According to the results of the tender for the purchase of 100 electric buses, the Chinese company Yutong Bus Co. Ltd. became the winner. The company signed a contract with the state enterprise "Samarkand passenger trans" in the amount of 29.7 million euros. 6 out of 100 electric buses will be delivered in the first half of this year, and the remaining 94 will be delivered by the end of the third quarter.
