Court to announce verdict against 39 defendants on case of Nukus riots on March 17
Earlier, prosecutors requested that 37 defendants be sentenced to terms of 5 to 12 years in prison, two more to restraint of liberty.

According to the press service of the Supreme Court, on March 17 at 10:00, the Bukhara regional court will announce the verdict following the consideration of a criminal case against 39 defendants accused of committing riots in Nukus on July 1-2, 2022.
It should be recalled on February 28, the prosecutor’s office requested to sentence 37 defendants to terms of 5 to 12 years in prison, two more to restraint of liberty.
State prosecutors in their speech announced that all the defendants were found guilty. Their proposals on the type and terms of punishment were also presented.
At the court session, 3 lawyers and 2 defenders spoke, and the final words of all the defendants were heard.
