Senate committee discusses the law on state border
On February 28, a meeting of the working group of the Senate Committee on Defense and Security was held. At the meeting, the law “On the state border of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was preliminary considered.

According to the press service of the Parliament, today one of the priority areas is to further increase the efficiency of ensuring the security of the state border of the Republic of Uzbekistan, taking into account threats to international and regional security.
“The activation of destructive gangs and subversive terrorist groups in the world, the aggravation of socio-economic problems, political and interethnic conflicts call each of us to be vigilant and attentive to others. In the modern geopolitical space, new trends are emerging, integration processes are accelerating. Under such conditions, even the most developed countries of the world recognize that the border authorities cannot ensure the border security of the country without interaction with other entities,” the report reads.
The law consists of 9 chapters and 73 articles. During the meeting, the initiators of the law informed the members of the working group in detail about what the document contributes to, talked about the innovations being introduced. In turn, the ministries and departments also expressed their opinion on the discussed law.
During the discussion, participants noted that the changes being made to the legislation are one of the priority areas for further improving the efficiency of ensuring the security of the state border, taking into account the challenges and risks threatening international and regional security today.
