The pharmaceutical group STADA Arzneimittel AG has registered a representative office in Uzbekistan, Spot reported citing the concern’s press service.
STADA Subsidiary LLC will distribute drugs on the local market. The company expects to increase the supply of medicines manufactured by STADA to Uzbekistan and increase its contribution to the development of local healthcare.
According to the company, only in January-October 2022, the pharmaceutical market of Uzbekistan grew by 10.6% in terms of euros. This year, STADA expects sales growth of 12-15%, Bakhtiyor Khadjimukhamedov, head of the company’s local representative office, said.
“We predict a significant increase in vitamins and dietary supplements. We should also expect growth in the hospital sector, as the government pays serious attention to providing the healthcare system with the full range of necessary medicines. And first of all, these are medicines for the treatment of cancer, diabetes and rare diseases,” Khadjimukhamedov added.
He noted the importance for market indicators of allowing accelerated registration of medicines from developed countries. STADA has registered drugs for urological, neurological, cardiovascular diseases in Uzbekistan and is considering the prospects for bringing cancer drugs to the country.
STADA Vice President for Eurasia Arminas Macevicius noted the “important role” of the Uzbek market in expanding the group’s regional business. He positively assessed the initiatives to increase the availability of medical care for the country’s population.
Plans for the digitalization of healthcare, the development of medical insurance and medical clusters will help attract investors, technology and experience to the field, Macevicius noted. STADA “sees its mission” in providing the Uzbek medical community with “data they can trust” for decision making.
It is also noted that STADA was the first of the international pharmaceutical manufacturers to launch product labeling for the Uzbek market from the hemostatic drug Natalsid. In total, the company supplies medicines of 17 therapeutic groups to Uzbekistan, including life-saving medicines.
For information, the STADA AG group of companies is one of the largest manufacturers of medicines – both specialized drugs and over-the-counter drugs, vitamins and dietary supplements. The group operates over 20 production sites worldwide and is headquartered in Bad Vilbel, Germany. The concern’s products are supplied to 120 countries of the world.
