The presidential decree “On measures to reform the public transport system” was signed.
According to the decision:
ꞏ the system of organizing and financing the transportation of passengers on the basis of a gross contract in accordance with the limited tariffs on city bus routes will be gradually introduced;
ꞏ settlements with carriers will be made based on the route traveled and quality criteria;
ꞏ the practice of setting a daily fare collection plan-assignment will be canceled;
ꞏ an automated dispatching management and control system will be established to monitor the performance of route indicators by carriers, to determine and evaluate the scope and quality of the work performed, to control the payment of fares and the quality of the provided services.
Implementation of a new network of bus routes in cities, automated payment system and automated dispatch service:
ꞏ until March 1, 2023 - in the city of Tashkent;
ꞏ until August 1, 2023 - in the cities of Andijan, Samarkand, Namangan, Karshi and Urganch;
ꞏ until June 1, 2024 - it will be launched in the city of Nukus and the centers of other regions.

ꞏ from April 15, 2023 - in the city of Tashkent;
ꞏ from January 1, 2024 - in the cities of Andijan, Samarkand, Namangan, Karshi and Urganch;
ꞏ from June 1, 2024 - it will be launched in the city of Nukus and the centers of other regions.
Reportedly, agreements have been reached:
ꞏ on the purchase of 200 18-meter and 500 12-meter CNG-powered buses and 300 12-meter electric buses for Tashkent city public transport;
ꞏ on the purchase of a total of 1,000 CNG-powered buses for public transport in the city of Nukus and regional centers.
Earlier, Kun.uz reported that these agreements were concluded with Chinese companies.
