Bakhtiyor Saidov announced this on his social media accounts.
“We met with our friend, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in Gaziantep. On behalf of the President and the people of Uzbekistan, I expressed sincere condolences in connection with the devastating earthquakes, the consequences of which left a deep wound in our hearts. We are together with Türkiye in this difficult time,” the message reads.
Earlier, Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu told CNN Türk that the death toll from the devastating earthquakes had reached 39,672.
According to him, search and rescue operations were carried out at the site of more than 20,000 buildings that collapsed during the natural disaster. The head of the department also said that search and rescue work in many places has already been completed.
