Turkmenistan ready to provide liquefied gas to Uzbekistan free of charge

In order to support Uzbekistan in a friendly and brotherly manner, the President of Turkmenistan signed a decree on the free supply of liquefied gas to Uzbekistan.

According to the decree, the state concern "Turkmangaz" was instructed to deliver the appropriate amount of liquefied gas to Uzbekistan. The message did not provide any information about the exact amount of LNG to be supplied.

It should be reminded that in December 2022, during the electricity and gas crisis observed in Uzbekistan, the two countries reached an agreement on gas supply from Turkmenistan. According to unconfirmed sources, the neighboring republic agreed to deliver 1.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas over three months.

However, due to technical reasons caused by cold weather, Turkmenistan temporarily suspended the export of natural gas to Uzbekistan on January 12 and resumed it on January 21.
