Young couple died from carbon monoxide poisoning in Samarkand
A young couple died from CO poisoning in the Kattakorgan district of Samarkand region, less than a month after their marriage, human rights activist Abdurahman Tashanov said.
The incident took place on January 18, in the village of Oltinsoy, Kattakorgan district.
It turned out that the gas was cut off and turned on again at midnight. As a result, gas leaked into the room and the sleeping bride and groom were poisoned. They were found dead in their apartment in the morning.
Hayot Shamsuddinov, the press secretary of the Prosecutor General’s Office, informed Kun.uz that the parents and relatives of the bride and groom buried the bodies and did not inform the law enforcement authorities about it.
Currently, the Samarkand regional prosecutor’s office is investigating the incident.
