Dozens of Uzbek citizens evacuated from buses stuck on road due to severe cold in Kazakhstan

69 Uzbeks were evacuated from two passenger buses stuck on the road in Aktobe region due to bad weather conditions. They are temporarily placed in a public school and a mosque.

On January 11, two buses with a total of 69 citizens of Uzbekistan got stuck on the highway “Samara – Shymkent” in Aktobe region, where the cold temperature (up to -30°C) has been observed for several days. According to the Emergency Situations Ministry of Kazakhstan, as the road was blocked due to bad weather, all passengers were placed in a public school in the territory of Irgiz district.

There were 3 citizens of Kazakhstan and 38 citizens of Uzbekistan on this bus.

On the same day, in the Aytekebi district, at the 968th kilometer of the same route, another passenger bus sent a signal about the need for assistance. There were 31 citizens of Uzbekistan on the bus. They were placed in a mosque in the village of Karabutak.

Earlier, it was reported that 19 passengers of the minibus en route “Moscow – Uzbekistan”, which was stuck in -40°C in the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia, were rescued by the police.
