Deputy PM of Uzbekistan – Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov commented on the difference between the statistics of Uzbekistan and China on gas exports.
“It must be admitted that there is a difference in the statistical reports of the two countries. The reason is that our statistics show only the volume of exported gas and its amount. The Chinese side, in general, took into account goods and services imported from Uzbekistan.
And here, in addition to the gas exported from Uzbekistan, there is a gas pipeline passing through the territory of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan to China. There is a joint venture Asia Trans Gas in our area. This enterprise carries out gas transportation.
That is, money paid for gas and transit services transported from the territory of Uzbekistan. When adding these two amounts, the number given by Chinese statistics is obtained,” the minister explained.
According to Uzbekistan’s statistics, gas worth $39.6 million was exported in November. According to Chinese statistics, gas worth $114.2 million was imported from Uzbekistan in November.
