Electricity equal to 71,000 households’ monthly consumption robbed in 18 days
As a result of illegal use of energy by 471 consumers in the regions, the energy system suffered damage worth more than 10 billion soums in total.

In 18 days, cases of illegal use of electricity equal to the monthly consumption of 71,000 households were detected, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reported.
It is noted that during the control activities conducted on December 18, cases of illegal use of electricity in the amount of 21.4 million kilowatt-hours by 471 consumers in the regions were detected. As a result, it became known that more than 10 billion soums of damage was caused to the energy system.
This amount of electricity is the average monthly consumption of 71,000 households.
Cases of illegal use have been identified in all regions of the republic. For example:
- 226.1 million soums worth of electricity was illegally used in “Magistral tarmoq qurilish” LLC, Boyovut district, Sirdarya region;
- 133.6 million soums – in the stone and gravel crushing workshop of “Sogda qurilish” LLC in Akdarya district, Samarkand region;
- 100.7 million soums – in the “Chorsu” shopping complex, Shaykhantakhur district, Tashkent city.
Actions were taken against the violating consumers in the prescribed manner, and their electrical equipment was disconnected from the network.
