President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a videoconference meeting on measures to develop entrepreneurship and industry, and ensure employment of the population.
At the beginning of the meeting, the head of state touched on the issue of energy supply, which has been bothering the population in recent days.
The industry has seen major changes over the past six years, in particular, the followings have been noted:
ꞏ the creation of more than 5 thousand megawatts of new electric power (in the previous 25 years only 3.3 thousand megawatts of power were put into operation);
ꞏ 45,000 kilometers of electrical networks and more than 13,000 transformer points have been renewed (this is also 3-4 times more than in previous years);
ꞏ the volumes of liquefied gas and coal production increased by 1.5 times.
“However, during the week of cold, O. Ramatov, M. Abdullayev, F. Abdurakhmonov, D. Isakulov, U. Mustafoyev, B. Normatov, B. Eshmurodov, regional, district, city khokims and sector leaders were not working downstairs.
They ruined preparations for the winter and discredited our ongoing reforms.
However, they have a large army of more than 115,000 employees in their system. They also receive a salary,” the President said.
At the meeting, it was noted that in today’s difficult situation, illegal connections to electricity and natural gas networks, thefts continue, and local leaders are indifferent and complicit.
Almost 3,000 such cases have been detected since the beginning of December, and 1,500 in the last two days. There are especially many of them in Fergana (617), Andijan (325), Samarkand (252), Namangan (220), Syrdarya (218), and Tashkent (269).
For example, 8 million kilowatts of electricity were stolen, which is equivalent to the monthly consumption of 41,000 courtyard houses in the autumn-winter season.
At the same time, it was found that 11.5 million cubic meters of natural gas, equivalent to the monthly consumption of 19,000 households, were used illegally.
Last week, 110 tons of coal were illegally sold in Namangan and 22 tons - in Karakalpakstan.
“What are the khokims, prosecutors, internal affairs agencies of these regions busy with?” the President asked.
The regional khokims were sharply criticized for not visiting the boiler house, gas and coal distribution stations, car park, electric networks and not seeing the works with their own eyes.
