This became known during the regular meeting of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis.

At the meeting, deputies considered the draft law ā€œOn amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the establishment of responsibility for obstructing the activities of a medical workerā€.

The law ā€œOn protecting the health of citizensā€ is planned to be supplemented with such terms as ā€œmedical activityā€, ā€œmedical serviceā€ and ā€œmedical careā€.

In addition, the Administrative Responsibility Code will be supplemented with a new Article 197-7. According to this Article, obstruction of the lawful activities of medical workers entails the imposition of a fine on citizens from 5 to 7, and on officials - from 7 to 10 BCAs or administrative arrest up to 15 days.

According to deputies, adoption of the bill will serve to protect the rights of medical workers and prevent various infringements on their professional activities, improve the status and prestige of the medical profession.
