Uzbekistan to introduce administrative liability for obstructing activities of medical workers
According to statistics, in 2019-2002, more than 285 cases of obstruction of the activities of medical workers were recorded in the country, in many cases with the use of force.

This became known during the regular meeting of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis.
At the meeting, deputies considered the draft law “On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the establishment of responsibility for obstructing the activities of a medical worker”.
The law “On protecting the health of citizens” is planned to be supplemented with such terms as “medical activity”, “medical service” and “medical care”.
In addition, the Administrative Responsibility Code will be supplemented with a new Article 197-7. According to this Article, obstruction of the lawful activities of medical workers entails the imposition of a fine on citizens from 5 to 7, and on officials - from 7 to 10 BCAs or administrative arrest up to 15 days.
According to deputies, adoption of the bill will serve to protect the rights of medical workers and prevent various infringements on their professional activities, improve the status and prestige of the medical profession.
