Esports officially recognized as a separate sport in Uzbekistan and to be taught at universities
A presidential decree “On Additional Measures for the Further Development and Wide Popularization of Esports” has been adopted.

According to the resolution, one of the main directions for the development of esports is the organization of republican and international esports championships and tournaments, as well as worthy participation in prestigious international and regional competitions.
Starting from 2023, the following events will be organized:
Uzbekistan Esports Championship (annually in April);
Cup of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan (annually in December);
Youth Cup tournament (annually in June).
The resolution created an interdepartmental council for the further development and promotion of esports.
The Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports opens the undergraduate course "Sports Activities: Esports" from the 2023/2024 academic year; the duration of this course will be 3 years.
Those who take 1st place in Uzbekistan Esports Championship will be exempt from professional (creative) exams in this area of bachelor training from the 2023/2024 academic year.
