On November 15, Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA Jonathan Henick.
The ambassador presented a copy of his credentials to the minister, who, in turn, congratulated him on taking office and wished him success in his professional activities.
During the meeting, the parties considered the progress of the implementation of previously reached agreements, as well as the schedule of upcoming events at the bilateral level and in the C5 + 1 format.
The sides noted the existing opportunities for building up trade and investment ties, including by attracting American capital and technology to the Uzbek economy, creating joint ventures in the fields of textiles, pharmaceuticals, energy, and ICT, and strengthening financial cooperation.
An exchange of views also took place on the situation in Afghanistan with an emphasis on the need to expand international assistance to this country.
