The Ministry of Public Education and relevant officials were given appropriate instructions by the administration regarding all redundant tasks assigned to teachers and their prohibition. Komil Allamjonov, the deputy head of the Presidential Administration, reported this on his Telegram channel.

Earlier, blogger Nikita Makarenko highlighted the problems in this regard, relying on teachers.

“All these things are happening on the basis of orders given in absentia by school principals and district public education departments. In this case, the Ministry of Public Education is indifferent. Perhaps the Ministry is aware of the problem and, despite public statements, it is unable to effectively end this form of modern slavery,” he wrote.

The blogger noted that the problem is systemic, noting that teachers in all schools across the country are widely involved in slavery and unpaid labor.

“This situation is happening despite the fact that the presidential decision PQ-3907, adopted on August 14, 2018, directly prohibits the involvement of teachers in such work. The collected evidence shows that the President’s decision is not being implemented, the responsible authorities are not conducting an effective fight against mass slavery among teachers,” Makarenko wrote.

Saida Mirziyoyeva also expressed her opinion about the illegal forcing of teachers to do work outside of their official duties:

“I’m very sad to hear that teachers are being forced to go round the houses and make lists of pupils, just like twenty years ago.

I believe that a review of the attitude towards teachers is very necessary and I ask the authorities to stop imposing unnecessary and illegal duties on them.

The main task of teachers is to ensure the future of our country by educating our children.

This in itself is a very difficult task. When there are so many problems in the field of education, it is redundant to impose some additional tasks on the shoulders of teachers.

Forcing teachers to overwork will harm not only the school, but also the future of Uzbekistan."

Mirziyoeva asked all the responsible persons to solve this problem as soon as possible and to free the teachers from all duties other than teaching.

“Currently, education is the number one priority issue in our country. We must end the treatment of teachers as free servants. I believe that it is necessary for them to become the most respected and honorable layer of society, for this everyone should work together. Because only education, only with the help of teachers, we can achieve progress. We must honor our teachers so that our children can find their place in life in the future!” Saida Mirziyoyeva wrote on her Telegram channel.
