New Ambassador of Kazakhstan starts work in Uzbekistan

According to the MFA, the meeting began with the ceremony of presenting copies of credentials to the minister, who congratulated him on taking office and wished him success in his professional activities.

During the conversation, issues of further strengthening the Uzbek-Kazakh relations of good neighborliness, strategic partnership and alliance were discussed.

The course of implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level was considered. An exchange of views took place on preparations for the planned visits and joint events, as well as the participation of the Kazakh delegation in the upcoming summit of the Organization of Turkic States, the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the countries of Central Asia and the European Union, the conference on interconnectedness "EU - Central Asia" in Samarkand.

The dynamic growth of mutual trade was noted with satisfaction. The parties voiced readiness to take joint measures to further increase trade, implement investment projects in the fields of industry, energy, transport and logistics, as well as in agriculture.

The importance of encouraging and strengthening contacts between the regions of the two countries was stressed.

The sides reached an agreement to continue cooperation within the framework of international organizations.

The commitment of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to the activation of cultural and humanitarian ties was emphasized. In this context, issues of preparation for holding the Days of Culture of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan in November of this year were discussed.

Beibut Atamkulov is a prominent statesman of Kazakhstan. He is 58 years old, was the Consul General and Ambassador to a number of foreign countries. He held ministerial positions. Prior to his appointment to Uzbekistan, he was the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development.

As ambassador to Uzbekistan, Beibut Atamkulov replaced Darkhan Satybaldy, who in August was appointed akim of the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan.
