Another 35 people suspected of participating in riots in Karakalpakstan released from custody
At the initiative of the commission, the number of defendants returned to their families reached 107.

According to the proposal of the commission members investigating the events in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, headed by Feruza Eshmatova, the representative of the Oliy Majlis on Human Rights, and at the request of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, on November 1, 2022, the Prosecutor General’s Office returned 35 more defendants to their families on the basis of public guarantees.
It was reported that during the study of the appeals of the family members of the persons suspected of participating in the riots, the commission took into account the remorsefulness of these people and their social conditions.
It should be recalled that on August 30 of this year, 34 defendants were returned to their families, and on October 13-14 – another 38 suspects.
So far, the number of defendants who have been returned to their families at the initiative of the commission has reached 107 people.
