Josep Borrell to visit Uzbekistan
On November 17-18, Samarkand will host a ministerial meeting in the "European Union - Central Asia" format and an international conference on the theme "European Union - Central Asia interdependence: Global gateways for sustainable development".

Heads of foreign affairs agencies of Central Asian countries, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, high-ranking officials of EU member states, international financial institutions, private sector, expert circles and representatives of civil society will participate in the events.
Within the framework of the ministerial meeting, it is planned to discuss the issues of further developing cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and the EU in the fields of economy, trade, investment, environment, water resources, climate, combating modern risks and threats. The first "European Union-Central Asia" youth forum will be held as part of the event.
The international conference is aimed at developing cooperation between the European Union and Central Asian countries in order to consolidate agreed measures to promote sustainable interdependence, support green development and eliminate the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, in accordance with the Global Gateway initiative of the European Union.
