In the Jomboy district of Samarkand region, the driver of a Spark car and a three-day-old baby being taken home from the maternity hospital in a Nexia car died when the two vehicles collided.

According to the information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Samarkand region, on October 18 at 1:40 p.m., a fatal car accident occurred on the 10th km of the 4K-502 highway passing through the Kokgumbaz neighborhood of the Jomboy district.

Reportedly, the driver of Spark lost control of the steering wheel, went in the opposite direction and crashed with a Nexia car coming from the other side of the road.

The MIA regional office reported that the driver of Spark and the baby inside the Nexia car died at the scene.

The driver of Nexia and the passengers in it were admitted to the intensive care unit of the district medical association with serious injuries.

In connection with the situation, a criminal case has been initiated by the Investigative Unit of the Jomboy district MIA under Part 3, Article 266 of the Criminal Code, and preliminary investigations are being conducted.
