“Abdulaziz Komilov’s speech was the boldest performance of Uzbekistan. However, after his speech, the economic crisis started for us for 1 week. As you know, Uzbekistan’s opening to the ocean from the north was specially paralyzed for 1 week. This is what needs to be discussed.
Look at the issue of economic dependence... Why should Uzbekistan be careful? Today, Uzbekistan is located in such a place that if it does not export, that is, if it does not enter the world market, development will not happen by itself.
I believe this has been done on purpose so far. That is, the unrest in Afghanistan, our inability to use the Afghan corridor – it is a special, artificially organized issue, a conflict.
We are still not able to open the Afghan corridor, and we used the Iranian port of Chabahar for some time, and after the last crises, this issue was also closed. These corridors are not opening.
Who and why do you think that these corridors are not opened and the need for the north flow is regularly maintained?
Those who manage this process are not interested in your frequent changes of opinion with external information resources.
So, do you think you can do your job with ease? No, it’s not happening. That’s why I said the above, development means overcoming obstacles. In our country, these obstacles are very big and heavy. If we do not overcome these obstacles, someone else will not help us. It is very difficult,” the Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber said.
For information, the former foreign minister of Uzbekistan, Abdulaziz Kamilov, during his speech in the Senate on March 17, stated that Uzbekistan recognizes the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, but does not recognize the self-proclaimed independent republics in Donbass.
Twelve days later, the MFA press service reported that Kamilov was being treated abroad due to his chronic diseases and he was being treated abroad at the Central Clinical Hospital No. 1.
On April 27, Abdulaziz Kamilov was released from the post of Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan by the relevant decree of the President.
