Earlier, Kun.uz reported that a criminal case was initiated against two judges of economic courts in Tashkent. Judges were suspected of deciding cases on illegally occupied land plots in favor of interested parties.
According to Kun.uz source, during the preliminary investigation conducted by the PGO Department for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption, 3 former judges accused of Article 205 of the Criminal Code (abuse of official power) and other Articles were detained as a precautionary measure.
The judge of the Zangiota inter-district economic court is among those arrested.
They are suspected of causing a lot of damage to the interests of the state by using their official authority.
The head of the press service of the Supreme Council of Judges, Tursunali Akbarov, while responding to the inquiry of Kun.uz correspondent, said that he was unaware that the terms of office of these judges had expired before the initiation of the criminal case, and the investigative processes were underway.
It should be noted that this is not the first case of the Supreme Council of Judges avoiding providing complete information.
Khayot Shamsutdinov, the PGO press secretary, did not deny this information, but at the same time, he did not confirm it either.
