System of advance information exchange to be launched between customs offices of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan from December 15

In Shymkent, Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan Akmalkhodja Mavlonov met with Daniyar Janalinov, chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Finance Ministry of Kazakhstan, the press service of the committee reported.

During the visit, the main focus was on the implementation of the bilateral documents signed in the field of customs during the state visit of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kazakhstan in December 2021.

In order to ensure the implementation of these documents, the heads of the customs services of both countries held a working meeting on December 25 of last year and signed a protocol on cooperation.

At this meeting, mutual coordination of construction works at border-customs posts “Navoi” (Uzbekistan) – “Qoplonbek” (Kazakhstan) and “Dout ota” (Uzbekistan) – “Tajen” (Kazakhstan) located on the border of the Uzbek-Kazakh state and this the execution of tasks arising in the process was discussed in detail.

Also, it was agreed to start the system of advance information exchange about the goods and means of transport moving through the customs borders from December 15 of this year.

The issues of mutual comparison and coordination of customs statistics on foreign trade between the two countries, joint customs control of energy resources transported across customs borders were also discussed at the meeting.

In order to quickly consider and resolve customs issues, a proposal was put forward to establish a permanent “customs service representative” within the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan.

Following the meeting, the parties signed the mutual cooperation plan for 2023-2024.

According to the agreement, the next meeting will take place in the second quarter of 2023.
