The issue of horticulture development was also discussed at the videoconference meeting on the issues of ensuring the stability of prices of basic food products and creating reserves.
Officials were instructed to extend the terms of land leases for the establishment of mobile refrigerators, to launch projects for the establishment of small refrigerators in 2,000 mahallas.
In this case, ready-made projects will be given to entrepreneurs based on the new leasing mechanism.
At the same time, in terms of plant protection:
• in cooperation with the private sector, detachments will be established to provide plant protection services on residential plots;
• the list of chemical preparations used in gardens will be approved, and they will be widely promoted among the population.
Farmers’ dissatisfaction with the quarantine service was criticized for becoming controllers rather than helpers. The head of the service, Ibrohim Ergashev, was strictly warned for the last time.
“The speedy implementation of the big reforms we have set in the agrarian sector depends primarily on the dedication of the leaders of this sector, Ganiyev, Khayitov, the new minister Voitov and their deputies.
They should understand that increasing employment and reducing poverty depend primarily on growth in agriculture,” the President said.
However, Deputy Prime Minister Shukhrat Ganiyev, Chairman of the Council of Farmers, Dekhkans and Homestead Land Owners Aktam Khayitov were criticized for still working in the old fashioned way and being obsessed with lofty numbers.
It was shown that the task of industry leaders is not to report to the president with big numbers, but to solve the problem of dekhkans and farmers in the village, to ease their burden.
However, the fact that important matters were ignored, artificial registrations, and unpleasant matters were increasing was strongly criticized.
It was said that Shukhrat Teshayev, the first deputy minister of agriculture, was dismissed from his position for his shortcomings, and Sh. Mirzayev, the deputy minister, was fired.
“From now on, Ganiyev, Khayitov, and the new minister Voitov will be questioned very hard,” the President concluded.
Officials’ reports on the issues discussed at the meeting were heard.
