President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is participating in the extraordinary 34th session of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

In his speech, the head of state noted that one of the main goals is to ensure that fundamental reforms based on the noble principle of “For human dignity” should penetrate into every city and district, village and village, and every household of Karakalpakstan.

“For 6 years as the President, I visited this generous land the most compared to other regions, that is, 9 times. I had many conversations with aksakals, businessmen, and youth representatives here.

During this period, we adopted 31 orders and decisions aimed at the complex development of Karakalpakstan. The number of business entities in the region has doubled, almost 4.5 thousand investment projects have been launched.

During my visit in February this year, we allocated 1.5 trillion soums for all-round development of the region,” the President said.

It was noted that drinking water supply in Karakalpakstan has increased from 40% to 68%, the level of preschool education coverage has increased from 32% to 76%, and the per capita income has doubled.

The head of state noted that despite all the efforts and huge funds allocated to Karakalpakstan, the problems that negatively affect the mood of the population remain.

“Because some unjust leaders here have not yet understood the noble concept of “pleasing the people”, the President said.

Even today, there are still high levels of complaints among the population about problems such as drinking water, internal roads, electricity supply, unemployment and prices.

Actually, based on the events of 2 months ago, it was shown that some socio-economic problems of the population have not been solved.

“Unfortunately, some leaders, instead of serving our people honestly, are ineffectively spending funds aimed at ensuring the well-being of our population, are not using the opportunities created. They are not working selflessly for the country,” the President said.
