During the meeting, special attention was paid to deepening cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, investment spheres, as well as within the framework of regional cooperation. The possibilities of expanding joint programs and initiatives for development of human resources were considered, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
The American diplomat welcomed the visit to Tashkent on August 20-23 of a delegation of the US Congress led by the co-chairman of the Uzbekistan Caucus in Congress, Republican Congressman from Mississippi Trent Kelly.
According to him, the visit of American lawmakers, which became the seventh trip of members of the US Congress to Uzbekistan since 2017, testifies to the high dynamics of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, and it has a steady tendency to further expand and deepen.
The parties stressed the commitment of Uzbekistan and the United States to continue cooperation within the “C5+1” format in order to achieve concrete results in the areas of infrastructure, energy, transport, environmental protection and combating climate change.
Following the meeting, the parties noted with satisfaction the tangible progress achieved in cooperation in the field of bilateral and regional partnership. They also expressed mutual readiness to actively develop a constructive dialogue based on the principles of taking into account each other’s interests.
