Private sports schools may be exempt from customs duties
In addition, for them, the rental rate for state-owned real estate will be reduced by 50%.
On July 1, Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved support measures for non-state sports education, Spot reports citing the Lex.uz database.
The document outlines benefits for private sports schools. From January 1, 2024 to January 1, 2026, they will pay rent for buildings and structures at a rate 50% below the general rate.
Measures are also being introduced for private institutions created by winners and prize-winners of the Olympics and Paralympics. Until January 1, 2024, such sports schools will be able to rent state-owned buildings for free.
The Ministry of Sports, the State Customs Committee and other departments were instructed to prepare a draft law on the full or partial exemption of non-state sports schools from paying customs duties for the import of equipment.
It is noted that sports schools enjoy tax benefits for legal entities working in the social sphere. In particular, this means a zero income tax rate.
Within a month, the Cabinet of Ministers must approve a special regulation on a non-state sports and educational institution.
Last fall, a resolution was adopted that provided for the involvement of businesses in the development of sports infrastructure on the basis of PPP. By the end of 2025, it is planned to build more than 1,000 sports grounds.
