Shavkat Mirziyoyev to take part in BRICS Plus summit on global development
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, will today take part in the High-Level Dialogue on Global Development in the BRICS Plus format.

According to the presidential press service, the event, which will be chaired by the Chinese side online, will also be attended by the heads of state and government of the BRICS group states - Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, as well as ministers from Algeria, Argentina, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Malaysia and others. In total, participation of delegations from 18 countries is expected.
The agenda of the forum includes issues of strengthening the global partnership to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Particular attention will be paid to expanding practical cooperation, primarily in the field of "green economy", high technologies, innovations, digitalization, transport and logistics, and humanitarian exchange.
It is expected that the President of Uzbekistan in his speech will outline the priority areas for broad international cooperation in the joint achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
It should be noted that the new BRICS Plus format was launched in order to establish mutually beneficial and multifaceted cooperation between the BRICS countries and other leading developing states.
The forum plays an important role in promoting mutual trade and investment, transferring advanced technologies and knowledge, developing cooperation ties and transport-communication interconnectedness, strengthening a constructive dialogue in the field of security.
The BRICS countries are home to over 3 billion people, they account for about 25 percent of world GDP, about 20 percent of global trade and 25 percent of direct investment.
