It is noted that the candidate must pass the approval of the Senate. Daniel Rosenblum will remain in office until Henick is fully confirmed.
Jonathan Henick, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service with the rank of Minister-Counselor, currently works as the US Department of State Chair at the College of Information and Cyberspace at the National Defense University. Previously, he served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau for South and Central Asian Affairs, where he was responsible for the countries of Central Asia, as well as Public Diplomacy and Press for all of South and Central Asia.
For information, Daniel Rosenblum, former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, has been serving as the Ambassador of the United States of America to Uzbekistan since 2019.
Pamela Spartlen, who worked as the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Uzbekistan, resigned in August 2018 after the US Senate approved Daniel Rosenblum as the new Ambassador.
