Deputy FM of Uzbekistan holds talks at FAO headquarters
During the visit to Italy, the delegation of Uzbekistan, headed by Deputy FM Gayrat Fazilov, held talks at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

According to the MFA, topical issues of further strengthening relations between Uzbekistan and FAO in the agricultural sector, attracting knowledge and innovation, developing investment projects and expanding cooperation in other areas were discussed.
During the meeting, FAO Deputy Director-General Beth Bechdol praised the fruitful efforts of Uzbekistan over the past two years during the presidency of the 32nd Regional Conference for Europe.
It was noted that FAO is ready for a comprehensive partnership in the framework of the implementation of the country’s agricultural development Strategy for 2020-2030.
An agreement was reached on further close work to eliminate the consequences of the Aral tragedy in the region, the implementation of projects aimed at adapting to climate change in agriculture and attracting investment in the industry.
The parties also agreed to hold in June at the FAO headquarters the opening ceremony of the thematic cafe “Uzbekistan Lounge”, which will embody Uzbek culture, national traditions and hospitality.
