This was announced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during today’s videoconference meeting.
“This year there were additional day-offs for the Nawruz holiday. 250 museums and hotels provided discounts. This was a good impetus for the development of domestic tourism. Bukhara and Samarkand were visited by 110 thousand local tourists. Next week, in connection with Ramadan Hayit, we will provide five more day-offs. This will be a good opportunity for the development of domestic tourism,” the head of state said.
Earlier it was reported that in Ramadan Hayit, Uzbeks will rest for at least three days.
It is important to pay attention to the fact that every year the President signs a corresponding decree on the celebration of Ramadan Hayit. The document indicates the exact date.
In Uzbekistan, the holy month of Ramadan began on April 2. In turn, Ramadan Hayit will fall on May 2. In official documents (day-offs, working hours, etc.), the indicated days of Ramadan Khayit and Kurban Khayit can be postponed by one day.
In February 2021, the head of state signed a decree “On measures for the further development of domestic and pilgrimage tourism in the Republic of Uzbekistan”. According to the document, the country has established a procedure in accordance with which during the celebration of the national holiday Nawruz, Independence Day and the New Year, as well as the religious holidays of Ramazon Hayit and Kurban Hayit, at least three non-business days are established due to additional and transferable non-business days.
