Almost 26 billion soums worth of natural gas was stolen in three months – Ministry of Energy

In the last three months, natural gas, which is equal to the daily consumption of 4 million households, has been misappropriated.
The staff of the Ministry of Energy analyzed the consumption of natural gas by consumers in January-March 2022, the ministerial press service reports.
Over the past 3 months, 765 cases of illegal and irrational use of natural gas by wholesale consumers in the amount of 28 million 398 thousand cubic meters were revealed.
As a result, the interests of gas supply companies suffered 25 billion 831 million soums.
This amount of natural gas is the daily consumption of 4 million households. The highest number of cases of illegal use was detected in Fergana, Tashkent, Jizzakh, Bukhara and Navoi regions.
On all of the above cases, relevant documents have been drawn up and submitted to law enforcement agencies.
