Gov’t adopts a resolution to ensure price stability in domestic market

The resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On additional measures to ensure food security and price stability in the domestic market” was adopted.

The proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction and the State Reserve Management Committee under the Cabinet of Ministers (Uzdavzakhira) together with Uzdonmakhsulot JSC and private enterprises to import 100,000 tons of 3rd grade wheat (partial flour) from Kazakhstan in April-July 2022 at reasonable prices was approved. 

Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade S. Umurzakov and the Ministry of Agriculture will reach an agreement that the Kazakh government, Kazakhstan’s Prodovolstvennaya kontraktnaya corporation, and other wheat exporters will import 100,000 tons of wheat (partial flour) to Uzbekistan at reasonable prices.

At the same time, the Uzdavzakhira Committee will sign import contracts for the supply of 100,000 tons of 3rd grade wheat (partial flour) in April-July 2022 from the Kazakh national JSC Prodovolstvennaya kontraktnaya corporation and other wheat exporters.

The Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction will make a substantiated proposal on the need to import another 500,000 tons of wheat at the expense of the funds allocated under this resolution, based on the situation in domestic and foreign markets.

The volume of imported wheat (flour) and vegetable oil will be sold through exchange trades on the basis of proposals of the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction in agreement with the Cabinet of Ministers.
