Moldova appoints new ambassador to Uzbekistan
The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Ukraine hosted a meeting with the newly appointed ambassador of Moldova to Ukraine and concurrently to Uzbekistan Valeriu Chiver.

During the conversation, the parties discussed a joint action plan to build up Uzbek-Moldovan cooperation with an emphasis on the development of the trade and economic dimension. In this context, it was noted that the consolidation of the efforts of the two diplomatic missions will make it possible to intensify bilateral cooperation.
In the light of recent events in Ukraine, special gratitude was expressed to the government of Moldova for the unprecedented conditions created for the smooth border crossing and the safe stay of citizens of Uzbekistan who temporarily moved to this country.
The new Ambassador of Moldova to Uzbekistan is 58 years old. He previously headed the Embassy of his country in Austria, served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova. Prior to his appointment to Uzbekistan, he was the head of the OSCE Program Office in Dushanbe.
