Shavkat Mirziyoyev pardons 63 convicts
A presidential decree was signed to pardon prisoners who had repented of their actions and were on the path of correction.

The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On pardoning a group of persons who unknowingly committed a crime, sincerely repented of their deeds and firmly embarked on the path of correction”.
As the document states, in accordance with Paragraph 23 of Article 93 of the Constitution of Uzbekistan, 63 citizens who committed crimes unknowingly, now sincerely repented of their deeds and firmly embarked on the path of correction were pardoned.
Of those pardoned, 44 will be released on parole. The terms of imprisonment for 19 people have also been reduced.
Two of those pardoned are over 60 years old.
