First India-Central Asia Summit to be held on Jan 27
The Summit will be attended by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as well as the presidents of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
According to a press release from the Indian Foreign Ministry, the event will be held in a virtual format on January 27.
During the first India-Central Asia Summit, the leaders are expected to discuss steps to take forward India-Central Asia relations to newer heights. They are also expected to exchange views on regional and international issues of interest, especially the evolving regional security situation.
Prior to this, the leaders of India and the countries of Central Asia had not held a meeting in such a format.
