As the Senate press service reported, the level of enrollment in higher education of secondary school graduates rose from 9% to 28%, the parameters of admission to higher educational institutions have been increased by 3 times, or up to 171,000 people.
In turn, the number of higher educational institutions increased from 77 to 153, 76 new higher educational institutions were established. Of these, 19 are non-state higher educational institutions, 30 are foreign higher educational institutions, 104 are state higher educational institutions.
Together with 60 higher educational institutions of 22 foreign countries, more than 300 joint educational programs have been introduced, providing for the issuance of double degree diplomas. On the basis of joint programs, in 2018, personnel training was established in 15 educational institutions, in 2021 – in 58 educational institutions.
At the same time, it was noted at the meeting that there are some shortcomings in this area. For example, in some higher educational institutions, the level of preparation for the academic year is insufficient, the credit-modular system is not fully implemented and teachers have an insufficient level of understanding about it. There are drawbacks in the implementation of 5 initiatives of the head of state in the educational process.
In addition, there is a lack of educational literature, a low level of provision of teaching staff and housing for students, as well as a low level of inclusion of higher educational institutions in international rankings and violation cases in the higher education system.
