This was stated by the Russian ambassador to the republic Oleg Malginov, RIA Novosti reports.

“The possibility of concluding an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of sanitary and epidemiological welfare and response to outbreaks of infectious diseases is being considered,” Malginov said at the diplomatic mission’s press conference.

The ambassador noted that in the period of the coronavirus pandemic, cooperation in the field of healthcare and ensuring biosafety is of particular relevance.

Malginov also said that Rospotrebnadzor has planned a number of joint projects in 2022 to study variations of coronavirus strains circulating in Uzbekistan, as well as the peculiarities of herd immunity formation.

The diplomat recalled that the teams of Russian doctors in 2021 continued to provide assistance to colleagues from Uzbekistan in the treatment of COVID-19 patients.
