During the period under review, 213 cases of carbon monoxide poisoning and gas-air explosions were reported in the country. 66 of them were registered as emergencies, 125 people died in them and 115 were injured.
According to the report, the majority of cases are caused by the use of non-standard hand-made or uncertified heating stoves and appliances.
But why do people use hand-made appliances putting their life at risk? Because they have no gas at home, although the republic is rich in gas resources. Many people in the provinces and villages have to install non-standard heating stoves and other appliances in the autumn-winter season to keep themselves and their families warm in the cold.
The Ministry of Energy never takes the blame, but rather prefers to blame the people themselves for not following safety rules.
