President Mirziyoyev evaluates conditions created at the University of Geology
On January 31, 2020, the head of state laid the foundation stone for the construction of the University of Geological Sciences. Today, during his visit on December 11, Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the conditions created at the new university.

“Geology is as important to the economy as water and air. In recent years, we have been rebuilding scientific schools, focusing on training, introducing the most advanced scientific methods, installing laboratory equipment and creating modern conditions. Now we need to work on the results,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
Currently, the university has more than 700 students in 7 undergraduate and 6 graduate degrees. It is planned to expand these areas and specialties according to the needs of the industry. In addition, a part-time education has been established for staff working in the field of geology with 5 years of experience.
The head of state spoke here with students, professors and teachers.
In the first phase of the project, an educational building, a dormitory and 2 scientific institutes, a library, a laboratory and a museum of geology were built. In the second stage, a 7-storey laboratory, a 5-storey administrative building of the State Geological Committee, a 7-storey geological fund and the Uzbek geological prospecting building and a sports complex will be built.
The President instructed to complete the construction with top quality.
For information, the institute includes the Institute of Geology and Geophysics named after Kh.M. Abdullayev, the Institute of Mineral Resources, Institute of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology, the Institute of Oil and Gas Geology and Exploration, the Institute for Advanced Training and Retraining of Geological Personnel, the Center for Geo-Innovative Technologies and the State Museum of Geology.
