As a Kun.uz correspondent reported, the head of state touched upon the problematic issues in the field:
“Despite the fact that there are at least 10-15 laboratories in one district, due to the lack of conditions and skills of specialists for blood analysis, the number of applications to the republican institutions for severe complications of diabetes – eye, kidney and ankle diseases has increased by 10%.
Although it is necessary to take an average of 8 blood tests during a day’s inpatient follow-up from a patient with diabetes at the district hospital, this is not possible at the district level with 15 laboratories and more than 60 staff.
The reason is simple – the working hours of laboratories in the central hospital and the central polyclinic end at noon – at 14:00. The emergency department laboratory, which operates around the clock, is located in the same area and does not serve other departments of the hospital.
Or, due to the lack of hormonal analysis to detect lack of iodine deficiency and thyroid disease, the population is forced to go to private laboratories.
Consequently, our people are absolutely dissatisfied with the healthcare system. Are the khokims of regions, districts and cities, heads of health departments unaware of this? Therefore, a special program for early detection, prevention and treatment of endocrine diseases will be adopted,” the President said.
