As the document states, according to the official website of the Health Ministry, as of July 1, 2019, the number of children with disabilities in the country is 111,850. This figure is 10.5 per 1,000 children. Every child with a disability is in constant need of social and psychological support.
“In recent years, it is worrying that children are being diagnosed with cancer. As the treatment of this disease is associated with high costs, each sick child needs special care.
Based on the above, the activities of the Public Fund for Child Support, which will be established in accordance with the bill, are aimed at supporting children in need of social protection,” the draft says.
The draft law regulates the purpose of the fund, the basic principles of its activities, rights and obligations, state support and encouragement of the fund’s activities, its management bodies, ensuring the transparency of its activities, the financial basis of the fund’s activities.
Adoption of the bill will serve to further strengthen the work of helping and supporting sick, disabled, orphans and children in need within the framework of the fund’s activities.
Clause 5 of the presidential decree PQ-5255 of October 4, 2021 provides for the allocation of 100 billion soums of non-discriminatory financial assistance to the fund from the state budget in 2021-2022, depending on the actual use of funds.
