An extraordinary session of the Navoi regional council of people's deputies will be held today. It will consider organizational issues.

According to Kun.uz sources,  Kobul Tursunov, erstwhile khokim of Navoi region, is expected to be officially relieved of his post at the session and Shuhrat Atabaev, acting board chairman of the People's Bank, will be confirmed as the new governor.

It is not yet known what Tursunov will do after leaving the post. He has been khokim of Navoi region since December 25, 2016.
