The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to unfreeze Afghan accounts in foreign banks frozen after the change of government in Afghanistan.
“Given the current humanitarian situation, we propose to consider the possibility of unfreezing Afghan accounts in foreign banks,” Mirziyoyev said, speaking at the anniversary summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Dushanbe.
He suggested holding regular high-level meetings in the SCO-Afghanistan format in connection with the current situation in the Islamic republic.
