Gov’t allows girls to wear national headscarves and skullcaps at school

Girls can come to school in scarves and skullcaps. This was announced by the Minister of Public Education Sherzod Shermatov during an open dialogue.
An open dialogue dedicated to the organization of the 2021-2022 academic year is being held under the leadership of the Minister of Public Education Sherzod Shermatov. Reportedly, in the new academic year, schoolchildren will be allowed to wear national scarves and skullcaps.
“Given the appeals of many parents, and taking into account our national values, our girls will be allowed to wear white and light-colored national scarves (wrapped around the back of the head) and skullcaps at school as an exception,” the minister said.
