“Actions depend on the intention” – Shavkat Mirziyoyev quotes from a hadith in his speech at the IDB summit

The 46th annual meeting of the IDB Board of Governors is being held in Tashkent. At the beginning of the event, the national anthem of Uzbekistan was played, and then the Holy Quran was recited. At the ceremony, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev started his speech with the Basmala – Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim!
At the beginning of his speech, the President said he is glad to host the event in Uzbekistan.
“Of course, the fact that the Bank’s annual meeting held in Tashkent has a special symbolic meaning. We consider this to be Uzbekistan’s contribution to the development of the Islamic world, as well as recognition of the consistent reforms that have been carried out in the country over the past five years,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
He also noted that despite the pandemic, it was possible to hold the conference live.
“As stated in the hadith, actions depend on the intentions.
We all have a sincere intention, and by the grace of Allah, we are able to hold the annual meeting of the Islamic Development Bank today.
It should be noted that this event is the first prestigious conference among international financial institutions in the world since the beginning of the pandemic,” said the President.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Sulaiman Al Jasser on his election as the President of the Islamic Development Bank.
“On behalf of all the member states of the Islamic Development Bank, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Mr. Al Jasser on his appointment as President of the bank.
Dear Mr. Al Jasser! It is deeply symbolic that you are starting your career in this high-ranking position from a visit to Uzbekistan. Therefore, I believe that cooperation with our country will become an important part of your responsible and honorable work.
It is no exaggeration to say that you have found a close partner and a loyal friend in the image of our country. May Allah Ta'ala always support you in fulfilling your noble duty!” said the President of Uzbekistan.
