The government has adopted a resolution “On implementation of the procedure for calculating the cost of minimum consumption expenditures”, the Ministry of Justice reported.
According to the resolution, the minimum consumption expenditure indicator is used as a measure (or limit) of poverty.
From 2022, the monthly per capita income criterion used in the process of recognizing a family as low-income through the information system “Single Register of Social Protection” will be equal to the minimum consumption expenditure.
The forecast parameters of the value of the minimum consumer expenditure by August of each year are calculated based on inflation expectations.
Minimum consumption expenditures and poverty rates are announced annually until January 20 of the following year, based on the inflation rate in the reporting year.
The structure of minimum consumption expenditures is reviewed at least every 5 years.
The resolution approved a regulation on the cost of minimum consumption expenditures of the population and the procedure for calculating the poverty line.
It should be recalled that on May 31 this year, the minimum consumption expenditure was set at 440,000 soums. It was noted that this value is important in providing financial assistance to the population in need of social protection.
