According to the Senate press service, during the meeting they discussed the state and prospects of further development of cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment spheres, in the field of education and ecology, as well as the activation of inter-parliamentary ties.
The importance of continuing effective interaction within the framework of the EU-Uzbekistan parliamentary cooperation committee was noted. Its 15th meeting is scheduled for November this year.
“The parties expressed interest in completing work on an agreement on expanded partnership and cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union. The issues of organizing upcoming joint events at a high level were discussed separately,” the message reads.
They also exchanged views on topical issues of international and regional politics.
